By visiting the Plessis Josso, we offer you a trip through the ages (from the 14th to the 19th centuries) to discover the everyday life of Breton people in Vannes region, contextualized in the Brittany and French histories…

During the outside presentation of the manor, you will be explained:
– The distribution of manor tasks in the buildings : protection, housing, services,
– The seigniorial power it was representing, symbolized by the building size and its decoration,
– The development history of the manor, visible through the various architectural styles: Gothic, Renaissance, classical…

Inside the manor, you will discover:
– The allocation of inhabited space
– The collective rooms: common livingroom, lower hall,
– The private rooms: bedrooms, kitchens, cellars.
You will appreciate, in particular, the development of culinary practices with their related equipments: medieval cuisine, supply cooking, renaissance cuisine, baker’s oven.

The visit duration (interior and exterior) is approximately 45 minutes.

After the visit, you will be free to stroll along the public road, and discover the water mill and the pond. If you continue Eastward on the road you can reach La Trinité Surzur (turn right at the end of the road) or Le Gorvello (turn left at the end of the road).
