Built in 1330 by Sylvestre Josso, squire of the Duke Jean III, the castle of the Plessis Josso has been refitted and enlarged thereafter. Alliances made it pass in 1681 in the Rosmadec powerful family which was reigning at the time on an estate of nearly 600 ha. Between the 16th and the 17th centuries, the Rosmadec family reinforced the seigniory safety by providing home and dependences with fortified ramparts, surmounted of a rampart walk and protected by defensive towers. They made moreover built a house in Louis XIII style, perpendicular to the home. Its dormer windows with pediments and its cornice are typical of this period.

By going through several rooms, we offer to you a small trip through the ages, from the 14th to the 17th centuries, to discover the Bretons life in the Vannes country looked back in the Brittany and French history... You will thus discover: - the kitchen and the bedroom of the 14th century Fortified House, - the high room of the 15th century, main living room for the ladies of the manor and their children, - the lower hall, true throne room of the 15th century, in which the lord received his vassals, - the pageantry bedroom of the 16th century, with its alcove in carved oak... You will appreciate moreover the many kitchens of the manor: - the kitchen of the 14th century, with its butchery place, - the seigniorial kitchen of the 16th century with its authentic tiled floor, - the kitchen of the 17th century with its roasting spit and its cooker... The visit of the castle, interior and exterior, lasts approximately 35 minutes. Following the visit, you will be able to stroll in the manor courtyard, and why not, to discover the adjacent pond ...
